“I HEARD THAT:” “FROM EMANCIPATION TO THE WHITE HOUSE”...

Rochelle Metcalfe byline‚ Jan. 30‚ 2013

50 years after the 1963 March on Washington, America’s first Black President has completed his second Inauguration! President Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in on the day the nation observed the annual federal holiday to honor the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Standing tall, proud, recommitted, President Obama took the oath, holding a black leather traveling Bible used by Dr. King that was topped by a smaller one owned by President Abraham Lincoln.

Who would have imagined a Black man, the son of a Black Kenyan father, and a White American woman, would become the 44th president to lead this country! President Obama Immediately proclaimed Americans “are made for this moment!”
