"Meltdown..."Jul. 28‚ 2006Mr. Shaw, I have read your articles describing the "meltdown" in juvenile probation. I believe you are off base in stating the department is failing. From what I know of the juvenile probation department in SF, it has been struggling for many years. How many chiefs have they gone through in the past ten years? I wonder if you really know the efforts Chief Siffermann has made to improve the department. I suppose more research should be done on your part before referring to it as a total meltdown.
