Concerts at the Cadillac: UCSF Piano Committee

Our September 21st performance at the Cadillac Hotel will feature an ensemble of classically trained musicians who are all students, faculty or staff at the Univ. of California - San Francisco. They are Peter Hwang, Gary Meyer, Chiaré Hwang, Adam Mendelsohn, and Margy Glasner. The group has prepared an impressive one-hour recital, with music by Schubert, Brahms, Grieg, Ginastera and Chopin.

Peter, a biochemist, studied piano with teachers that included the niece of Rachmaninoff and a protégé of Pablo Casals. He is the pianist for Symphony Parnassus, a local community orchestra. Gary is a post-doctoral fellow, and was a founding executive committee member of the University of Michigan Life Sciences Orchestra. Chiaré is an accomplished pianist and oboist, and has performed at numerous concerts - including the Stanford Young Artist Festival. Adam, a graduate student, is a pianist and violinist who previously performed with the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra. Margy, a postdoctoral researcher, is as flutist who performs with both the Civic Symphony of San Francisco and the SF Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band.

The Cadillac Hotel is located at 380 Eddy Street (@ Leavenworth.) Everyone is welcome to attend Friday's performance at Noon.
