Concerts at the Cadillac: Dan Zemelman, Jazz PianistPaul Hogarthbyline‚ Oct. 04‚ 2007Join us on October 5th at the Cadillac Hotel, where our featured pianist this week will be Dan Zemelman, a professional jazz performer. A native of New Jersey, Dan has played at a variety of venues throughout the Bay Area -- as well as a tour of India, Sri Lanka and Argentina. Dan moved to California six years ago, where one of his first "breaks" was to play on John Lee Hooker's last album before the legendary blues guitarist's death. In the past year, Dan has been a regular pianist for the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra at Pearl's, played at the Fillmore Jazz Festival, and recently opened for Los Lobos at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga. He also teaches two jazz piano classes at the Jazzschool in Berkeley. The Cadillac Hotel is located at 380 Eddy Street (@ Leavenworth.) Everyone is welcome to attend Friday's concert at 12:00 Noon. |
