Ma Endorses Mar in District 1Randy Shawbyline‚ Jul. 29‚ 2008In what could be a critical endorsement in the race, popular Asemblymember Fiona Ma endorsed School Board Member Eric Mar for San Francisco District 1 Supervisor on July 28 at the Western U.S. Headquarters of the Mar Family Association in Chinatown. Ma noted that she came to the same location when she first ran and won for Supervisor, and then she ran and won for the Assembly. "So anyone coming here will get elected." In endorsing Eric Mar, Ma pointed to his service on the Board of Education, concluding that Mar showed that he "cares about the well-being for our children, and for the community". Although Ma previously endorsed Mar's chief opponents, Sue Lee and Alicia Wang, her action yesterday will likely help Mar with moderate voters. |
