The vote on the proposed new meal contract
for SFUSD, which was scheduled
for tonight's SF's Board of Education meeting, has been postponed. Orla O’Keeffe, Executive Director of Policy and Operations for SFUSD, who had been scheduled to give a presentation on Student Nutrition Services at the meeting, said in a statement:
" Yesterday afternoon we received a protest of our intent to award a meals contract to Revolution Foods Inc. The District is going to respond thoroughly and expeditiously to this bid protest, and the party being protested will have an opportunity to respond to the bid protest.
"Board action on the meals contract will be postponed pending review and an opportunity for the protested party to reply to the bid protest. We are hoping to have greater clarity in the next several days, and plan to convene another Board meeting later in December.
"This means that tonight two items related to Student Nutrition Services will be pulled from tonight’s Board agenda and they will be considered later this month:
o Update on Student Nutrition Services (item A)
o Authorization to award a bid to Revolution Foods, Inc. (item 2j)
"We don’t anticipate having any additional information while the bid review and response process is pending. We understand the urgency of the matter and your interest in school food, and as soon as we have more information we will share it with you."
Hmmm, so much for one of my dreams
