Raids, What's the Answer?

What do the immigrants rights movement in Arizona and California have in common? What is the most adequate response to stop the raids on immigrants, the possible implications for the political arena and for the community?

Please join us to in a discussion with Toni Herrera from Unidos en Arizona (United in Arizona), on Thursday, March 15th, 522 Valencia St. 7:00 p.m. (one street from the 16th street BART station in the Mission District) . who will speak about the struggle facing the immigrant community in Arizona, the impact of conservative politicial groups on state politics, the scene in which immigrant rights activists work, and what the future holds.

The Alianza Latinoamericana por los Derechos de los Inmigrantes (The Latin American Alliance for Immigrants' Rights) will release the numbers of hotlines that will begin taking calls next Monday in the Bay Area. The hotlines will inform immigrants of their rights and identify free services, including agencies that provide services to Spanish speakers, lists of lawyers, detention centers, and information for those monitoring the raids.
