Concerts at the Cadillac: Michael Parsons, Jazz Pianist

Join us tomorrow, on November 30th at 3:00 p.m. at the Cadillac Hotel -- where our featured performer will be Michael Parsons, a 27-year-old jazz pianist. "I don't know how to do anything else, except tune pianos," said the Lodi native and Tenderloin resident.

Parsons is well-versed in the American Songbook, using standards to improvise over; he also writes his own songs. "A song by Cole Porter is like talking about politics or philosophy," he said. "You can talk about it hundreds and hundreds of times." Parsons and his band -- Bag Lady Quartet -- play every Wednesday at Octavia Lounge, and every 1st, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays at Club Deluxe.

The Cadillac Hotel is located at 380 Eddy Street (@ Leavenworth.) Everyone is welcome to attend Friday's concert at 3:00 p.m.
